Basic Texas Hold'em Poker Rules

 

 

The rules for Texas Hold’em poker are quite simple. Some of the terms a player should be familiar of while playing Texas Hold’em Poker are:

  1. Hole cards: Two cards dealt with face down to each player in the beginning of the game. Also known as ‘pocket cards’.

     

  2. The flop: Three cards are dealt with face up on the table.

     

  3. The Turn: Fourth card dealt to the table is called ‘The Turn’.

     

  4. The River: Fifth card dealt to the table.

     

  5. Community cards: The five cards on the table are called community cards.

To be a winner of Texas Hold’em Poker a player should try and make the best poker hand. the best poker hand is formed by using any five out of the seven usable cards (5 community + 2 hole cards). All the members have the equal right to access the community cards.

 

 

General Texas Hold’em poker rules are -

  1. Each Player is dealt two cards facedown. These are hole cards.

  2. Then first betting round begins.

  3. Dealer flips three community cards called ‘the flop’.

  4. After that second betting round starts.

  5. Dealer then flips 1 more card called ‘the turn’. That makes four communal cards.

  6. Third betting round starts.

  7. Finally dealer turns one more card i.e. is ‘the river’ on the board. That makes 5 communal cards.

  8. Then Final betting starts

  9. After that its showdown round. All players reveal their cards in this round. And the best hand wins.

  10. At the showdown player can use either:

  • Two pockets cards and three community cards

  • One pocket card and four community cards.

  • All community cards
