Basic Roulette Rules
Roulette is a game of placing bets on specific numbers, lines or corners. A wheel with the same amount of matching numbers is spun and a ball placed into the spinning wheel. Where the ball lands is the winning number or colour. Before playing one should be familiar with each kind of bet and how to place it. Roulette has several betting options but they can be categorized into two main groups:

Inside bets
Inside bets are made on individual numbers or combinations of numbers inside the layout of the numbered grid. On inside bets, player have to keep one thing in mind and that is that your collective bet must be at least the table minimum.
The different types of inside bets are -

Straight-up bet: It is one of the simple roulette bets. In this player choose any one number out of 37 numbers and place the chips down on that number. If the ball drops into your chosen number you are paid off at 35 to 1.

Split bet: Roulette allows you to place a single bet on two adjacent numbers. To bet on two numbers player has to place the chips on the line between two numbers. If either number comes up this bet pays back 17 to 1.

Street bet: It is similar to Split bet except that in this case player can bet on three numbers in a single bet. In this case, player place the chips outside row of the numbers on which player wish to bet. This bet pays 11 to 1.

Corner bet: If player bets on four adjoining numbers it is corner bet. In this case, player place the chips at the point where four points meet. If out of four any number comes up player gets 8 to 1. This is also known as Square bet.

Special line bet: It lets the player bet on five adjoining numbers (00,0,1,2 and 3). If player place the chips on the line at the edge of the number spanning the zero rows and the first row. This bet pays 6 to 1.
Outside bets
Outside bets are the bets placed out of the number grid and their payouts are substantially less.
- Column Bet A bet covering 12 numbers, just under a third of the table pays out 2 to 1
- Dozen Bet A bet covering a set of 12 numbers low (1-12) mid (13-24) and high (25-36) pays 2 to 1
- Colour Bet A bet on either red or black pays 1 to 1
- Even/Odd Bet A bet on either even or odd pays 1 to 1
- Low/High Bet A bet on half the numbers either 1-18 or 19-36 pays 1 to 1
