Unlike most mmorpg games, Eve does not require you to grind through levels in order for you to advance in the game. It all comes down to training skills, which is done through purchasing or receiving books from agents and learning them through 5 levels per skill book. The higher the skill level the longer it takes to train. The good thing is you train even when you are not playing provided that your account is active.

So what to train first?

Well this depends on what route you want to go, usually your characters set up will dictate which skills you start with and which agent you are assigned to in the tutorial. Learn every book you get from the agent first but keep your training queue active with your pre given skills, it is important not to let your training queue become inactive. Before you log off always ensure that you have at least over 24 hours of training in your queue, this is to make sure that should the server be down or you are unable to play for some time that your training still continues.

Important Skills

You want to start your basic learning skills as soon as possible, these skills will add to your attributes, which in turn will boost your learning times often shaving off days and hours of training. As soon as you can, you need to view the market and under learning Skills tab purchase these 5 books subject to you being able to afford them. Once you have purchased the books try train them is this order all together.

Training your learning skills to level three should be sufficient while enjoying your 100% bonus learning speed. At level 4 you will be able to purchase the advanced learning skills but this is better left until you make more money and you training bonus has expired.
